Integrating with Google Analytics and Tag Manager

Integrating the BankingBridge embedded lead tool with Google Analytics and Tag Manager

🚧

Note

You must provide BankingBridge with the UA ID you will use for event tracking.

Prerequisites:

  • Google Analytics account with at least one Universal Analytics property set up (Google Analytics 4 is not currently supported).
  • Optional: A Google Tag Manager account with a container snippet installed on the website where the BB tool will be embedded.
  • Pages where Google Tag Manager (gtm.js) is installed should not have Google Analytics (gtag.js) tracking code installed.

Scenario 1: Universal Analytics with no Google Tag Manager installed

  1. Obtain your Google Analytics property ID. For instructions, click here.
  2. Provide BankingBridge with your UA property ID, and events will be sent automatically to GA.

Scenario 2: Universal Analytics with Google Tag Manager

🚧

Important

Pages where Google Tag Manager (gtm.js) is installed should not have Google Analytics (gtag.js) tracking code installed. Failure to remove all gtag.js calls from the page when GTM is installed will cause the BB Tool not to load the necessary data layer to collect events with Google Tag Manager. The tags you've already set up should work after the code is removed. Follow these instructions.

  1. Obtain your Google Analytics property ID. For instructions, click here.
  2. Log in to your Google Tag Manager account.
  3. Add the Banking Bridge event to Google Tag Manager and verify functionality (see instructions here).
